Why should you choose handmade soap over commercial soap?

I'm sure that you already know, handmade soap and commercial soap are not created equal.
It's a simple case of "spot the difference".
Numero Uno reason hands down is handmade soap contains glycerin.
Glycerin is a natural byproduct of the soap-making process and a wonderful humectant, meaning it stays on your skin and attracts moisture from the air, which helps keep your skin soft and supple.
Have you ever noticed after washing your hands with commercial soap that your hands are dry, maybe even itchy? This is because most commercial soaps have had their glycerin removed during processing to be sold as a separate product!

Biodegradable soaps have fewer chemical additives and synthetic components. So, they decompose quickly and break down naturally without harming the environment and are therefore more sustainable.
Handmade soap is often packaged minimally in biodegradable and/or recycled paper instead of plastic.
There is also no testing on animals; usually, the testing of new soaps is by the soap makers friends and family!!
